Amazing App!

This app has really helped me learn Spanish.

Add more languages

So since I’m Filipino, I wanted to learn my own language. (I know I’m a whitewashed Filipino IM SORRY! 😟🥲) I wanted to learn because I don’t live in a household where both my parents speak to each other in Filipino / Tagalog. Since both of my parents speak 2 different Filipino languages, (My dad speaks Bisayan and Tagalog and my mom speaks Ilocano) I never had any experience with my family speaking Tagalog. The only time I hear my family speak to each other with their language is at parties but, the parties only happen 5-7 times a year. I downloaded this app 4 years ago wanting to learn Filipino / Tagalog. But, Duolingo didn’t have it so I tried to learn Spanish instead. I deleted it since I didn’t use the app a lot. 4 years later I download the app and still find the same languages from 2019. Yes, the Philippines has a LOT of languages which might be why Duolingo might not want to add all of these languages, but it would be fun to add at least Tagalog on there. I do know multiple and several phrases in Tagalog and words but I do have trouble placing the words in the correct order.

The best app to learn a new language

It’s okay

It’s good but not perfect

Way too many popups and distractions

I know you’ve probably got a team of product managers trying to justify their existence (and high salaries) by creating never ending distraction flows for the poor customer to get lost down, but having returned to the app after many years away, I’m shocked to see what used to be a simple and elegant learning modality has now turned into some sort of trashy candy crush saga flow with unlimited popups and annoying distractions. Fire your product team. They are failing and trying to convince you it’s what we (the customers) want. News flash. We don’t. You are making the same mistake every user centred product company that ever existed has made. You are complicating your product unnecessarily. Wake up !

Good but intimidating

I don’t know if this is just me, but I really enjoy this app but this is my third time downloading this app. The reason why is because I felt pressured and the reminders made me feel that if I didn’t practice, my own future self would be disappointed and that put me through way to much pressure. Besides that I really love the app! It is good for kids who are teens like me to learn how to speak in many different languages. The graphics and visuals are also good because they can make you feel like you can learn more than a classroom setting. And the higher streak the better the things and milestones you can get. Thank you for reading this review!

Duolingo is awesome I can learn easy Spanish from this

This is the best app to learn languages and get threatened by a green owl at the same time! The methods for teaching languages with different characters is very good, I am loving Japanese, Norwegian, Swedish, Spanish, and French! I could not recommend it more!
